Helping organisations see around corners

For leaders working at the edge of institutional change—when the constraint sits between layers rather than inside any single one, and the problem being solved isn’t the one actually shaping the outcome.

I walk into a room—or a conversation, or a thread—look at what someone is building, and find the problem that changes what the work is. Not as a process. As an ability.

A $50M programme, stalled for months, solving a workflow problem that wasn't the workflow problem. A pricing initiative that couldn't stabilise because the delivery model it was built on hadn't moved. A thought leadership programme that ran for five years and generated no measurable client contact. Each addressed a real issue. None found the constraint that was actually shaping the outcome.

The programme that was stalled moves. The pricing initiative stabilises. The thought leadership starts converting. Not because the effort increased—because the work is now organised around the right problem.

The presenting problem is always real. The actual problem sits one level deeper—usually at the point where strategy, execution, and how the organisation meets the market have drifted out of alignment. Find it, name it clearly, and the solution begins to redesign itself around it.

That's the one thing. Everything else—the sprints, the frameworks, the publications—follows from it.

Here's what it looks like ↓

1
Entry point

A conversation

A conversation about what's really happening beneath the presenting problem. Not a sales call—a single exchange to establish whether the problem is at the right level.

If it is, we'll both know.

2
Bounded engagement

Strategic sprint

A time-bounded engagement—typically six to twelve weeks—to build the strategic framing, define the commercial architecture, and deliver the first activation moves for a new initiative.

Fixed scope, defined deliverable, designed to generate early revenue or market signal before major investment.

3
Compounding

Ongoing advisory

Ongoing partnership to embed the capability to see around corners, navigate complexity independently, and sustain meaningful change. An embedded role—typically four to five days per month—as strategic operator inside the initiative. The retainer runs the flywheel, conversations generate proprietary insight, insight shapes IP, IP compounds into market position.

Most engagements start with a conversation, some move to a sprint, the best ones end up on retainer.

For leadership teams and conferences where the received wisdom needs interrogating.

Recent thinking is at The Puzzle and Its Pieces: weekly essays on how emerging technology actually changes work. Not the hype, not the panic, but the patterns.

AI Deployment and the Reasonable Steps Problem A governance framework for Australian boards. The question regulators are moving toward isn't whether the system was built correctly. It's what the organisation did once the risk was known.

Usually, conversation
is the first step.

If the problem you're facing sounds like the one described above, there's no brief required and no form to fill in. Just an email.
